Gebze Technical University (GTU) supports educational equity through a book donation campaign, delivering academic and cultural books to the library of Yüksekova Vocational School of Higher Education of Hakkâri University.
Organized under the leadership of the GTU Social Impact Coordination Office and in collaboration with the GTU Directorate of Library and Documentation, the book donation campaign has been successfully completed. As part of the initiative aimed at promoting educational equity and facilitating access to knowledge, the collected books were delivered to the library of Hakkâri University’s Yüksekova Vocational School of Higher Education.
Prof. Meral Elçi, Social Impact Coordinator, noted the significant interest in the campaign, stating: "Together with Assistant Coordinator Aykut Ergut, we have received great support from our students, academic and administrative staff. In addition to donations made with contributions from our management graduates, books were collected in donation boxes placed in the library and Kelebek Café. With the support of Library and Documentation Director Salim Yıldız and staff members Hatice Demirtaş Doğan, Erol Tuncay, Rıdvan Gültekin, and Hüda Sezgin, the books were sorted and categorized."
Prof. Elçi also expressed joy at receiving positive feedback from the administration of Yüksekova Vocational School of Higher Education, emphasizing the satisfaction of contributing academic, cultural, and literary books to their library.
