Gebze Technical University (GTU) and TRMOTOR Power Systems Inc. sign an important protocol that will strengthen university-industry collaboration. With the protocol signed towards the establishment of engine testing infrastructures, GTU Faculty of Space Block B Hangar Building will be used as the "Engine Subsystems Testing Center".
The collaboration aims to contribute to Türkiye's domestic and national projects in the aviation and defense industry. With the implementation of the project, innovative engine subsystem projects are aimed to be developed, bringing together academic and sectoral know-how and supporting the technological independence of our country.
The signing ceremony was hosted by Gebze Technical University Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, Vice-Rector Prof. Hasari Çelebi, and Prof. İlyas Kandemir, Dean of the Faculty of Space. On behalf of TRMOTOR Power Systems Inc., General Manager Prof. Osman Saim Dinç, Subsystems Director Serdar Aksoy, Design Manager Cemal Güneş, and Procurement Manager Tuğrul Başaran attended the ceremony.
GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar said the following in his speech at the ceremony: "As Gebze Technical University, we continue to contribute to innovative solutions that our country needs in the field of technology and defense. This collaboration with TRMOTOR will be an important step in transferring our academic knowledge to industry. This protocol will open the door to new opportunities in both education and R&D activities."
TRMOTOR General Manager Prof. Osman Saim Dinç emphasized the importance of the collaboration and made the following statement:
"Partnering with a well-established academic institution such as GTU will enable the conducting of critical projects in the aviation sector. Such collaborations will not only increase the nationalization ratio of our defense industry, but will also increase our international competitiveness."
The testing center is planned to be completed in a short time. This center will enable the development of projects that will provide significant added value to Türkiye's efforts in the field of engine technologies and defense.
