GTU KUAM Events Successfully Come to an End

Gebze Technical University (GTU) Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center (KUAM) successfully completes its events organized to raise awareness for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25, extending to Human Rights Day on December 10.

 

Seminar: "Cyber Violence and Its Psychological Effects"

The awareness events organized by GTU KUAM began with a seminar titled “Cyber Violence and Its Psychological Effects”, featuring Psychologist Esra Tanrıverdi as the speaker on November 27, 2024. The seminar covered the types of cyber violence, its psychological impacts on individuals, and potential solutions. Additionally, representatives from the Kocaeli Police Department’s Cybercrime Division provided information on cyberbullying, cybercrimes, and cybersecurity measures.

 

Presentation: "When Our Selves Speak"

As part of the KUAM-organized events, Expert Psychologist Lütfi Yapıcı delivered a presentation titled “When Our Selves Speak” on November 29, 2024, at the GTU Young Office.

 

In his impactful presentation, Yapıcı explored the concept of self-perception and how to strengthen our communication styles with ourselves. The event continued interactively with feedback from participants, making it an engaging experience.

 

Workshop: "Painting My Inner Strength"

On December 6, 2024, KUAM held the “Painting My Inner Strength” workshop, led by Expert Psychologist Gizem Özkök. This workshop enabled participants to discover their inner strength and express their emotions through art.

 

This meaningful event, organized at the GTU Young Office as part of the November 25 International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, aimed to raise awareness and empower individuals. Through these activities, GTU KUAM has taken an important step in amplifying women’s voices, providing support, and significantly contributing to awareness in the fight against violence.
