Students from the Faculty of Architecture at Gebze Technical University (GTU) demonstrate significant success in the 2024 Graduation Project Competition for Urban and Regional Planning Students, hosted by the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB) Chamber of City Planners and the Turkish Planning Schools Association (TUPOB). The competition evaluates 43 projects submitted by students from 16 different schools, assessed in a four-stage process based on fundamental criteria. At the end of the evaluations, a total of nine awards are distributed, including four Degree Awards, three Honorable Mention Awards, and two Murat Balamir Preventive Planning Encouragement Awards, all decided unanimously.
The competition evaluated 43 projects from 16 different institutions based on predetermined criteria in a four-stage process. As a result, 4 Degree Awards, 3 Honorable Mention Awards, and 2 Murat Balamir Preventive Planning Encouragement Awards were decided by unanimous vote. GTU students excelled, securing five awards in total.
GTU students achieved remarkable results, winning five of the nine awards. The Joint First Place Award was given to Ayşenur Yalçın and Rabia Bayrak. The Third Place Award went to Ayşe Beyza Güngör and Fatma Sena Böğrek. Aleyna Taş and Gamze Nur Yılmaz were recognized with a Joint Honorable Mention Award. The Murat Balamir Preventive Planning Encouragement Award was jointly granted to two groups from GTU: Meryem Nur Sağdıç and Fatma Ekici, as well as Abdulkerim Varli and Edanur Özadanır. |
