The Republic March organized by GTU students is held on campus.
To celebrate the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, students from Gebze Technical University (GTU) organized a Republic March and delivered a press statement on October 29, Republic Day. The march, full of enthusiasm, began at GTU's main entrance and concluded in front of the Rectorate building. Following the march, accompanied by slogans and national anthems, participants observed a moment of silence for the martyrs and recited the National Anthem. Representing GTU students, Eren Yurdakul emphasized the sense of unity and solidarity experienced on this significant day, expressing gratitude to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and all martyrs and veterans. Condemning the recent attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc., the students collectively recited Atatürk's Address to Turkish Youth before returning to their faculties.
During the press statement, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, Gebze District Governor Mehmet Ali Özyiğit, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Hasan Soba, Gebze Mayor Zinnur Büyükgöz, Gebze National Education Director Şenol Pekgöz, and Çayırova Seed Certification Testing Manager Ferhat Han supported the students. |
