GTU Achieves Great Success in URAP Türkiye Rankings

The 2024-2025 URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance) Türkiye Rankings are announced on October 22, 2024. Gebze Technical University (GTU) achieves significant success by ranking 5th overall among universities without medical schools and 4th among public universities.

URAP is a ranking system that evaluates universities based on their academic performance using indicators such as the number of publications and citations to measure scientific productivity. The rankings are based on reliable, publicly accessible data. This year, URAP used a total of 15 indicators in its evaluations.

Rankings Enhanced with New Indicators

While URAP previously ranked universities using 9 indicators, this number has been increased to 15 in the past two years. These indicators include criteria such as the number of publications, citations, the ratio of doctoral students, and the number of projects funded by TÜBİTAK. Additionally, the numbers of national and international joint publications are among the newly added indicators. These innovations provide an opportunity to assess the scientific productivity of universities from a broader perspective.

GTU continues to rank among Türkiye's top universities, thanks to its academic performance and research achievements.
