In collaboration with Gebze Technical University (GTU) Technology Transfer Office (TTO), Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI/TUSAŞ) organizes "LIFT UP Programs Information Day" event at the Congress and Cultural Center, aimed at master's, doctoral, and undergraduate students as well as academics. TAI University Relations Manager, Dr. Süleyman Demir, participates as a speaker and provides detailed information to the attendees about the content, purpose, and opportunities offered by the LIFT UP programs conducted by TAI.
The LIFT UP programs are comprehensive support initiatives designed to encourage young researchers, academics, and undergraduate students to develop projects related to the aerospace and aviation industries. The purpose of the program is to enable students and academics to transfer their academic knowledge to industry and create innovative solutions. Dr. Demir stated that the LIFT UP programs aim to involve young scientists and engineers in TAI's R&D projects while strengthening university-industry collaboration in the process.
During the event, opportunities for not only graduate students and academics, but also undergraduate students were explained in detail. Dr. Demir emphasized that undergraduate students may also participate in the LIFT UP programs and benefit from TAI's internship programs and mentoring support. Special attention was given to the inclusion of undergraduate students, particularly those studying engineering and technology, in projects to help them develop their skills and gain industry experience. It was highlighted that through special projects and competitions, the program aims to provide early industrial exposure for undergraduate students.
Dr. Demir provided comprehensive information about the application processes for the LIFT UP programs, as well as details regarding internships and research projects. The opportunities offered to students at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels have been further strengthened with the infrastructure and resource support provided by TAI. At the end of the event, participants had the chance to ask questions about TAI's R&D activities and the advantages the programs could offer students.
Such events not only help build strong collaborations between universities and industries, but also allow students and academics to closely follow the developments in Türkiye's aviation and aerospace industries. The LIFT UP programs make significant contributions to the development of human resources in the country's aerospace sector by connecting academic knowledge with industry, from undergraduate students to doctoral researchers.
The TAI LIFT UP Programs Information Day has received feedback as an important event for students and academics at our university to discover opportunities to collaborate with the industry and participate in scientific and technological projects.
