GTU Students Host NASA Space Apps Challenge

GTU Computer Society successfully holds the NASA Space Apps Challenge on campus.

 

The GTU Computer Society has hosted competitors and teams from different cities at the GTU Congress and Cultural Center for the NASA Space Apps Challenge. Students from GTU mentored the participants, providing technical support as they hosted the Kocaeli leg of the competitions, which took place in seven cities across Türkiye. GTU academics served as jury members for the competitions also organized under the responsibility of the Turkish Space Agency and TÜBİTAK.

 

The competing teams worked on their chosen challenges from 10:00 AM on October 5, 2024, until 4:00 PM on October 6, 2024. During this period, GTU students provided support and answered any possible questions. The teams completed their work and prepared presentations according to the rules set by NASA. Presentations began at 4:00 PM on October 6, 2024, accompanied by jury members. A total of 13 teams shared their projects and ideas during the presentation period, responding to questions from the jury and other audience members. After the presentations, the top three teams were awarded prizes based on the jury's evaluation.

 

The NASA Space Apps Challenge is a hackathon organized by NASA that provides participants with the opportunity to find solutions to various problems using NASA data.
