GTU students organize a march, press statement, and sit-in to raise awareness about femicide and child murders. The students call on all university students to increase sensitivity and awareness on this issue.

Demonstrating their sensitivity towards the increasing cases of violence against women and children, Gebze Technical University (GTU) students held a protest march and made a press statement today to raise awareness in society. Thousands of GTU students participated in the march, which started at the university's entrance, carrying banners and chanting slogans. The students marched to the Rectorate building, where they delivered a press statement, demanding an end to violence against women and children. The statement was read by Halime Şevval Çelebi on behalf of the GTU students, inviting all university students to engage in peaceful protests to create sensitivity and awareness.

GTU Vice-Rector Prof. Elif Damla Arısan, who supported the students, also gave a speech. In her address, she emphasized that through unity, solidarity, and protecting each other despite differences, all evils could be overcome. She thanked the students for their sensitivity.

After the statements, the students recited Atatürk's Address to the Youth in unison and conducted a sit-in protest.
