Technology teams formed by GTU students make a mark at TEKNOFEST 2024. GTU Delta Alaz and YTG-GTU Biogas Innovators Teams achieve first place at TEKNOFEST.
Gebze Technical University (GTU) has showcased its success in technology and innovation at TEKNOFEST, one of Türkiye’s largest technology events. In this year’s competitions, the GTU Delta Alaz Team won first place in the Chip Design Competition, while the YTG-GTU Biogas Innovators Team won first place in the Biotechnology Innovation Competition, University and Above Project Category, achieving great success. The teams received their awards at the Aerospace and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST), held at Adana Şakirpaşa Airport from October 2-6, 2024.
In other competitions, the Alfa ETA-H Team secured 3rd place in the Hyperloop Development Competition, and the GTU-Gök Vatan team took 3rd place in the Jet Engine Design Competition. The GTU-Assos Team achieved 4th place in the TEKNOFEST International UAV Competition, and the YTG-Hazar Team earned 5th place in the Air Defense Systems Competition. Many other GTU teams also competed in various categories and reached the finals, showcasing the university’s strength in innovation.
GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, during his visit to the GTU teams in Adana, remarked that these achievements reflect the university’s R&D and innovation-focused educational philosophy. He stated, "We have come together at TEKNOFEST to explore the technologies of the future and support innovative projects. We had an inspiring experience with our students. Their determination and innovative vision reinforce our commitment to producing the engineers of the future. The successes achieved in such events will continue to strengthen GTU’s leadership in the field of technology. We wholeheartedly congratulate all our students, whether they have ranked or not, who participated in the competitions across various categories. We also extend our thanks to everyone who have contributed to TEKNOFEST."
GTU’s stand, set up by GTU TECHNOPARK at Adana Şakirpaşa Airport, also attracted significant public interest.
