GTU and Uzbekistan Agree on Academic Collaboration

GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar signs a protocol for academic collaboration at the Türkiye-Uzbekistan Forum.

 

The III. Türkiye-Uzbekistan Education Forum, aimed at strengthening academic cooperation, creating educational opportunities, and developing joint projects among universities in the two countries, has been hosted by Istanbul Technical University (ITU). The forum was attended by the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Prof. Erol Özvar, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, other university rectors, academics, and representatives from institutions in both countries.

 

The main themes of the forum, organized to enhance higher education collaborations between Türkiye and Uzbekistan, included sessions on "Sustainable Development: The New Agenda for Higher Education Institutions," "Transformation of Higher Education: Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence," and "High Technology-Oriented Development: The Role of Engineering Education." Under these topics, experts shared their experiences and opinions, leading to in-depth discussions among universities from Türkiye and Uzbekistan.

 

On the second day of the forum, new collaboration opportunities among universities were discussed, and signing ceremonies were held. As Gebze Technical University, a goodwill agreement was signed for research and development, joint project collaborations, organizing joint conferences, and particularly creating joint programs with Technology Institutes, as well as for the mutual exchange of our graduate students in R&D and education, with Tashkent State Technical University, Namangan Institute of Engineering Technologies, Namangan Institute of Textile Industry, and Fergana Polytechnic Institute.

 

The forum has received reviews as an important platform aimed at further strengthening the strong academic ties between the two countries.
