A protocol gets signed between Gebze Technical University (GTU) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of the Philippines to develop cooperation in the field of agricultural technology.
Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, Mohammad S. Yacob, along with his delegation, visited GTU and met with Vice-Rector Prof. Damla Arısan.
Prof. Damla Arısan hosted the delegation in the Rectorate Meeting Room and provided information about the production techniques and agricultural technologies being developed at the university that will shape the future of the agricultural sector. The Memorandum of Understanding, aimed at enhancing cooperation between GTU and the Philippine ministry in agriculture and technology, was signed by Prof. Damla Arısan on behalf of GTU and by Minister Mohammad S. Yacob on behalf of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.
Following the signing ceremony, both parties discussed the steps to be taken to ensure the strong continuation of the collaboration. A traditional Filipino outfit was presented to Prof. Damla Arısan as a gift, while Prof. Arısan expressed gratitude to the visiting minister and his team and presented them with a plaque.
As part of the visit, organized by GTU’s International Relations Office, the Philippine delegation toured the Institute of Earth and Marine Sciences, the Smart Agriculture Research Center (ATAM), GÜBRETAŞ, the Plant Factory, and the Technopark. They also received brief information from GTU academics and division administrators. The cooperation protocol aims to increase the exchange of knowledge and experience in agriculture and technology between the two parties, paving the way for joint future projects. |
