A protocol is signed between Gebze Technical University (GTÜ) and the Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of Social Security (SGİM) to establish cooperation for activities to be carried out within the scope of the "Year of Retirees." The protocol is signed in the Rector's Meeting Room by GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar and Kocaeli Provincial Director of Social Security İsmail Ünlü, with the participation of Vice-Rector Prof. Damla Arısan.
Under the protocol, GTU will offer educational and social opportunities for retirees. In this context, new educational programs will be launched, or the capacity of existing programs will be increased, providing retirees with free or discounted participation. Additionally, academic events will be organized in collaboration with the Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of Social Security, and necessary facilities will be provided for expert retirees to teach courses. Retirees will also benefit from special rates for the university's foreign language, distance education programs, social facilities, and libraries.
SGİM will provide information about the privileges and activities GTU offers to retirees and will publish these announcements on the special website, application, and other communication channels for retirees. Additionally, it will ensure the necessary coordination for the announcement of events organized in cooperation with the university, as well as for venue and speaker support.
