The paper titled "Current status and future of ocean energy sources: A global review" by Prof. Mehmet Melikoğlu, a faculty member at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Gebze Technical University (GTU), published as single-authored in the Q1-indexed journal "Ocean Engineering", has become the top 3rd most-cited paper since its publication date in 2018, among the 12,050+ papers published in the journal, according to Scopus data.
Recognized as one of the reference publications on ocean energy, which is considered among the future energy technologies, the publication also received a "policy citation" in the book "Climate Change 2022 - Mitigation of Climate Change: Working Group III Contribution to the Sixth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change" prepared by the United Nations.
Prof. Melikoğlu continues his research at GTU in the fields of sustainability and energy policies.
