GTU's Spectacular 2023-2024 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony Held
The Gebze Technical University (GTU) 2023-2024 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony was held with the participation of undergraduate and graduate students who received their diplomas after an intense period of study. With the pride of graduating from GTU, which ranks among the top universities in Türkiye and the world, caps were thrown into the air.
The ceremony, held at the GTU Congress and Cultural Center, was attended by Gebze District Governor Mehmet Ali Özyiğit, İzmit District Governor Yusuf Ziya Çelikkaya, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, Darıca Mayor Muzaffer Bıyık, GTU Vice-Rectors Prof. Elif Damla Arısan, Prof. Hasari Çelebi, and Prof. Mahmut Durmuş, GTU Secretary-General Nadir Yıldırım, representatives of trade associations, provincial and district directors of institutions, GTU institute directors, faculty deans, academics, students, and their families. Additionally, Eskişehir Governor Hüseyin Aksoy sent a congratulatory message, celebrating the graduates on their happy day.
Speech by District Governor Mehmet Ali Özyiğit District Governor Mehmet Ali Özyiğit emphasized that Gebze Technical University graduates possess not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical knowledge, and he is confident that they will serve the Turkish nation. He wished that the graduation would be beneficial for the Turkish nation, the university, the graduates, and their families.
Highlights from Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar's Speech: Graduation as a Beginning: Graduation ceremonies are not the end of an academic period, but the beginning of a new one. Graduates are entering a period where they will step into new opportunities with the knowledge and experiences they have gained at the university.

Speech by Neslihan Başaran At the ceremony, Alumni Office Coordinator and Alumni Association Chairperson Neslihan Başaran (PhD) emphasized that according to YÖK's December 2023 data, Gebze Technical University ranks fastest in Türkiye in terms of the time it takes for its alumni to find their first job. She provided information about the Alumni Coordination Office and the Alumni Association, stating that they will continue to support the graduates after graduation. She concluded her speech by inviting the graduates to stay in contact with the coordination office and the association, participate in events, and mentor new students.
Speeches by Faculty Valedictorians Faculty valedictorians Ahsen Nur Özdemir, a graduate of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, and Damla Tunalı, a graduate of the Department of Chemical Engineering, delivered speeches at the ceremony. They expressed that graduation is an important milestone resulting from long-term efforts and hard work, and thanked their professors, friends, and families for their contributions to their success. They emphasized that the knowledge and experiences they gained at the university would play a significant role in their future lives and careers. They expressed their belief that they would overcome future challenges with the education they received and stated their commitment to following the path of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Conclusion of the Ceremony After the speeches, plaques were presented to the top-ranking graduates. Subsequently, all graduates were invited to the stage, where they were presented with their graduation certificates by their professors. As the students filled the stage in their gowns and caps, their families and loved ones watched them with pride and joy. The graduation ceremonies concluded with the throwing of caps and group photo sessions.
