May 29, 2024 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations In collaboration with GTU and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Youth Office (Genç Ofis), which will contribute to the personal and social development of students, has opened with the participation of Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Enes Eminoğlu.
The opening ceremony of the Youth Office at Gebze Technical University (GTU) was attended by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Enes Eminoğlu, Gebze District Governor Mehmet Ali Özyiğit, Gebze Mayor Zinnur Büyükgöz, GTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar, Kocaeli Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Gökhan Yavaşer, district sports directors, district youth center directors, representatives of institutions and organizations, academics, and students. After a moment of silence and the recitation of the National Anthem, GTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar gave a welcoming speech, expressing their honor at the participation of Deputy Minister Dr. Enes Eminoğlu. He stated that the Youth Office will serve a very important purpose by providing opportunities for students to engage in scientific, social, cultural, artistic, and sports activities during their free time.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Enes Eminoğlu said that Gebze Technical University is an institution that constantly improves itself and makes significant academic contributions, highlighting that GTU is a shining star. He mentioned that in addition to the youth office opened on campus, they are working on opening the student dormitory soon, emphasizing that they are supporting the youth at GTU as they do across the country.
Following the speeches, the ribbon-cutting ceremony took place, inaugurating the 300 m² Youth Office. The office includes a kitchen where students can have tea-coffee and cooking workshops can be held, a conversation area with cushioned seating, a meeting room, technical drawing tables, an IT area, a chess and mind games area for students to spend quality time together, a music room, a painting room, areas for playing table tennis and billiards, reading corners, and a winter garden for having talks. |
