GTU Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics 4th-year student Faruk Barbaros Kalyoncu has won the third prize in the "Ali Kuşçu Young Talents" category at the Düzce Bolu R&D Project Market competition.
The "Düzce Bolu R&D Project Market" competition, supported by Düzce University, Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, DÜSİMER, Düzce Technopark, Bolu Technopark, Düzce TTO, and TÜBİTAK, was held on May 15-16, 2024. In this competition, many projects were presented in various fields such as machinery/manufacturing technologies, information technologies, defense industry technologies, medical and health applications, building materials production and applications, energy and alternative energy technologies, composite material technologies and applications, electrical and electronic technologies, food and agriculture technologies, environmental technologies, textile industry technologies, chemistry/pharmaceutical technologies, nanotechnology, and biotechnology. Representing Gebze Technical University (GTU), Faruk Barbaros Kalyoncu, a 4th-year student from GTU's Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, has been awarded the third prize in the "Ali Kuşçu Young Talents" category for his project titled "Isolation and Purification of Probiotic Bacteria from Healthy Honey Bees for Use in Bee Diseases," prepared under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mine Gül Şeker from GTU's Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics.
