Staff Appointment and Promotion System (PAYS), developed by the Directorate of Information Technology of Gebze Technical University (GTU), has been introduced to academic and administrative staff.
The PAYS launching event took place at GTU Congress and Cultural Center, attended by GTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar, as well as academic and administrative personnel. The introduction of PAYS was presented by Research Assistant Evren Çifçi from the Software Development Division of the GTU's Directorate of Information Technology. Following the evaluations at the end of the launching meeting, GTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar presented certificates of appreciation to GTU Deputy Director of Information Technology Sefa Yıldırımtepe (on behalf of Hülya Çifçi) and Evren Çifçi.
PAYS aims to digitalize the processes of staff recruitment and academic staff promotion. Initially, the system will be used for the recruitment of faculty members. All processes related to the publication of job announcements, entry of academic activities, submission of applications, and evaluation of applications will be conducted through the system. Future plans include expanding the system to be used for the recruitment, appointment renewal, and promotion of all types of academic and contracted staff.
The first version of PAYS is expected to contribute to GTU by facilitating ease and speed in application and evaluation processes, reducing paper waste, ensuring the transparency of processes, controlling and easing access to information, and digitalizing archives.
