The web platform "PHISTO" in which the experiment results and findings about the infection diseases are cetralized, was constituted in the scope of a project conducting by Gebze Technical Universty (GTU).
Asst. Prof. Saliha Durmuş Tekir who is a lecturer at GTU Faculty of Engineering Department of Biochemistry, tells the AA reporter that, when the microorganisms, pathogens, viruses, bacterias and parasites enter the human body, they spoil the normal working mechanism and cause the diseases.
Tekir who tells that the infection diseases cause more than 20 percent of the human deads, empasised that in spite of all the developments in medicine there are a lot of infection diseases which threat humanity in the 21th century.
Tekir who points out that enlightenment of the unsolved infection mechanisms is only possible by comprehensive analizing of the inter-organism protein interactions continued:
"At this point the focus of the new generation antimicrobial treatment mechanisms is to be able to disconnect the mechanisms that microorganisms use in the host organisms. That situation may provide
more successful treatment method with prevent their developing drug resistance."
