Information Regarding the 2025-26 Spring Semester GTU Architecture Department Graduate Entrance Exams (15.12.2025)
As stated in the Graduate Education Institute announcements, GTU Architecture Department Graduate Entrance Exams are planned to be held in person on January 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. for the Doctoral Program and on January 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. for the Thesis-based Master's Program. Candidates who will participate in the relevant exams must: 1.Meet the application requirements and have passed the preliminary evaluations. 2.Candidates who do not meet one of these requirements, namely the language requirement, or who have not submitted any language certificate, must pass the graduate language proficiency exam to be held by GTÜ on January 20, 2026. The GTÜ language exam is not valid for Doctorate.
Candidates who meet the specified conditions should take note of the information provided below.
Before the Graduate Entrance Exams: 1.Candidates applying for the Architecture Doctorate and Master's Degree with Thesis entrance exams are expected to obtain or prepare the additional documents required for the entrance exams, such as a portfolio, reference letter, and statement of purpose, before the exam (either in person* or digitally). These additional documents required for graduate programs in order to participate in the entrance exams are listed in the graduate application requirements and quota announcement. The additional documents required to participate in the entrance exams must be sent by email to the specified addresses by the dates and times indicated below:
a)Applications for the doctoral program must be submitted by 5:30 PM on January 23, 2026, to mimarlikdoktora@gtu.edu.tr
2.When submitting the requested additional documents, they should be named using formats such as candidate_firstname_lastname_portfolio or candidate_firstname_lastname_reference.
3.It is important that the resolution of the portfolio among the required documents is at least 150 dpi and that the file size is suitable for emailing. 4.For reference letters among the required documents, the Turkish or English form with the code FR 0575 titled “Reference Letter Recommended for Use in Architecture Department Graduate Entrance Exams” must be used, which can be found in the education and training forms section on the page linked below. Additionally, reference letters must be sent from the institutional email address of the person providing the reference to the addresses specified for the above-mentioned programs by the specified deadlines.

Regarding the process of conducting graduate entrance exams:
1.The graduate entrance exam process will be conducted in person in accordance with the decisions and rules established by the Departments. The Architecture Faculty N Block meeting room will be used as the exam location for Doctorate and Thesis-based Master's programs. 2.Only applicants who meet the application requirements will be admitted to the entrance exams, and these applicants will be notified via email. Notification will be sent after the submission of additional documents. 3.Applicants will enter the exam in alphabetical order by name. It is important that applicants be present at the exam venue at the scheduled exam time.
Announcement of Graduate Entrance Exam Results:
Exam results are announced on the GTÜ website by the relevant date specified in the application announcement.
