As stated in the announcements of the Graduate School, the GTU Department of Architecture Graduate Admission Exams are planned to be held in person on September 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. for the Ph.D. Program, and on September 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. for the Thesis-Based Master's Program. Candidates who will attend the relevant exams must: 1. They must have met the application requirements and passed the preliminary evaluation. 2. Candidates who have not met the language requirement — which is one of these conditions — or who have not submitted any language proficiency document, must pass the graduate language proficiency exam to be held by GTU on September 2, 2025. The GTU language proficiency exam is not valid for Ph.D. applications. It is important for candidates who meet the specified conditions to take into consideration the information provided below.
Before the Graduate Admission Exams: 1. Candidates who will participate in the Architecture Ph.D. and Thesis-Based Master's exams are expected to obtain or prepare the additional documents required for the entrance exams, such as portfolio, reference letter, statement of purpose, etc., either physically or digitally before the exam. These additional documents required for participation in the entrance exams are specified in the graduate program application requirements and quotas announcement. The additional documents required for the entrance exams must be sent via email to the addresses below by the specified dates and times: a) For Ph.D. program applications, no later than September 5, 2025, at 5:30 PM to: mimarlikdoktora@gtu edu.tr b) For Thesis-Based Master's program applications, no later than September 5, 2025, at 5:30 PM to: mimarliktezliyl@gtu.edu.tr 2. When submitting the required additional documents, the subject line should be named as follows: candidate_firstname_lastname_portfolio or candidate_firstname_lastname_reference. 3. It is important that the portfolio has a resolution of at least 150 dpi and that the file size is suitable for e-mailing. 4. For reference letters among the required documents, the forms titled “Recommended Reference Letter for Use in the Graduate Admission Exams of the Department of Architecture” with the code FR 0575, available in Turkish or the same code in English on the page linked below under the education and training forms section, must be used. Additionally, 'reference letters must be sent from the referee’s institutional email address' to the appropriate program email addresses mentioned above by the specified deadlines. About the Graduate Admission Exam Process: 1. The graduate admission exams will be conducted in person according to the decisions and rules set by the Departments. The Faculty of Architecture N Block meeting room will be used as the exam venue for the Ph.D. and Thesis-Based Master's program exams. 2. Only candidates who meet the application requirements will be allowed to take the entrance exams, and these candidates will be notified via email. Notifications are sent after the submission of additional documents. 3. Candidates will enter the exam in alphabetical order by name. It is important that candidates are present at the exam location at the scheduled exam time.
Announcement of Graduate Admission Exam Results: The exam results are announced on the GTU website by the date specified in the application announcement.
