To the Attention of Candidates for the 2025-26 Fall Semester Graduate Entrance Examinations of GTU Department of Architecture!
As stated in the announcements of the Graduate School, the Graduate Entrance Examinations of GTU Department of Architecture are planned to be held face-to-face on the following dates and times: for PhD Program: July 1, 2025, at 10:00 and for Thesis-Based Master’s Program: July 2, 2025, at 10:00. Candidates who will participate in these exams must:
- Meet the application requirements and pass the preliminary evaluations.
- Fulfill the language requirement, which is one of the application conditions. Candidates who do not meet this requirement or have not submitted a language certificate must pass the Graduate Language Proficiency Exam to be held by GTU on June 24, 2025. Please note that the GTU language exam is not valid for the PhD program.
It is important that candidates who meet the specified conditions carefully consider the information provided below.
Prior to the Graduate Entrance Exams:
- Candidates participating in the PhD and Thesis-Based Master’s entrance exams are expected to prepare and submit the required supplementary documents (such as portfolio, reference letters, and statement of purpose), either in printed or digital format, before the exam. These documents are listed in the graduate program application requirements and quotas announcement.
Supplementary documents must be sent via e-mail to the following addresses by the dates and times indicated below:
a. For PhD program applications, no later than 30 June 2025 at 10:00 am, mimarlikdoktora@gtu.edu.tr
b. For Thesis-Based Master's program applications, no later than 01 July 2025 at 10:00 am, mimarliktezliyl@gtu.edu.tr
- In the e-mail subject line or file names, candidates are expected to use naming formats such as name_surname_portfolio or name_surname_reference.
- Portfolios should have a minimum resolution of 150 dpi and be of a size that allows e-mail transmission.
- For reference letters, candidates must use the Turkish or English forms labeled FR-0575, titled "Recommended Reference Letter Form for Graduate Entrance Exams of the Department of Architecture." Reference letters must be sent from the institutional e-mail address of the referee to the relevant e-mail address mentioned above by the respective deadlines.

Regarding the Graduate Entrance Examination Process:
- The entrance exams will be held in-person according to the decisions and rules established by the academic departments. The exam venue for both PhD and Master’s programs will be GTU Faculty of Architecture, N Block, Meeting Room.
- Only candidates who meet the application requirements will be admitted to the exams, and these candidates will be informed via e-mail after the supplementary document submission period is completed.
- Candidates will enter the exam room in alphabetical order. It is important for all candidates to be present at the exam venue at the scheduled time.
Announcement of Exam Results:
Exam results will be announced on the GTU website by the date stated in the official application announcement.
