The 2024-2025 Fall Semester MIM 441 Building Application Design course will be held as follows.
Introduction and Course Processing The MIM 441 Building Application Design course will be held on September 23, 2024 at 13:30 in NZ-13. After the course process and introduction, students will be able to meet in the classrooms to determine the projects they will work on according to their executive groups. Things to Do Before the First Lesson Students taking the course must join the “2024-25 Fall | MIM441 Building Application Design” team with the code b1vaivg. Creating Groups Students are expected to form groups of two to work throughout the semester. Group information and the instructors they want to work with should be entered into the Excel file shared under the Teams team. These procedures must be completed by 10:00 on 09/23/2024. Project Selection Each student is expected to bring at least two projects. It is the student's responsibility that these projects are different from the projects done in previous semesters and will be controlled.
For the selection of the project for which an application project will be prepared during the semester, students are expected to: * PDF or jpg documents containing information such as status, plan, section, appearance, etc. (to scale) of the structures they worked on in MIM 221-MIM 222 Architectural Design III-IV (residential, etc.), * As an alternative to these projects, they are expected to have ready as a printout PDF or jpg documents containing information such as status, plan, section, appearance, etc. (to scale) of two housing projects (medium-sized) that they like. The selected projects must be at least two-storey (basement + two-storey), have a living area of 75-100 m2 and be in a detached layout. The choice of carrier system is free and it is expected to come to the subject by thinking about it in the first lesson. The location of the projects (district, city) must be determined and at least two land proposals suitable for the projects must be brought.
At least two of the features and different suggestions exemplified below must be implemented in the projects to be worked on: -Sustainable structure -Water efficiency (collecting rainwater, etc.) -Energy and atmosphere (low-energy structure, green roof, etc.) -Materials and resources (use of certified materials, reused or recycled materials, use of local materials, etc.) -Indoor air quality (natural ventilation, material selection, etc.) -Innovative approaches in design (innovative facades, innovative systems, etc.)
After receiving approval from their coordinators, students must enter the selected project's identification information into the relevant file to be uploaded to the Teams team by 17:00 on 23.09.2024. |
