Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Gebze Technical University is ranked among Turkey’s most innovative and entrepreneurial universities. According to the 2024 “Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index” results, GTU was selected among the top universities out of 209 institutions, once again proving to be one of the strongest representatives of Turkey’s innovation potential. This achievement reflects the robust innovation ecosystem at our university, where students can transform their dreams into projects and their projects into reality.
The GTU Technology Transfer Office (GTU TTO) operates to strengthen university-industry collaboration, identify suitable partners for researchers’ projects, and facilitate the commercialization of knowledge and inventions. Through GTU TTO, the patent rights of your projects are protected, and scientific studies are transferred to the real sector and society. Our university is also one of the implementing institutions of TÜBİTAK’s “BiGG Investment” program, which provides investment support of up to 900,000 TRY for innovative business ideas and supports entrepreneurs in establishing their companies. At our pre-incubation center, students with business ideas receive training, mentorship, office facilities, access to investor networks, and collaboration opportunities, fostering the growth and commercialization of their ideas.
At GTU, where entrepreneurship is placed at the heart of campus culture, students have access to numerous opportunities. Through mentorship and consultancy, office and workspace facilities, training sessions and seminars, financial support and investor meetings, as well as collaboration and networking opportunities, you can bring your projects to life and successfully represent our university in national and international competitions. Additionally, GTU hosts five student organizations directly focused on entrepreneurship and innovation — the R&D Technology and Innovation Club, Blockchain Club, Science and Technology Club, Entrepreneurship and Career Planning Club, and Google Developer Club — providing you the chance to be part of a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.
