Gebze Technical University has adopted internationalization as one of its top strategic priorities. As a pioneer in digital Erasmus processes, GTU successfully implements the Diploma Supplement and the ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) in full alignment with the European Higher Education Area.While studying at GTU, you will have the opportunity to gain academic and professional experience not only in Türkiye but also across various regions of the world.
Within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA131 Exchange Programs, Gebze Technical University (GTU) has exchange agreements with a total of 88 universities in 18 European countries and 1 non-European country (Brazil).Our students have the opportunity to study for one semester or a full academic year at distinguished universities across Europe, gaining exposure to different cultures and new perspectives.In addition to academic mobility, Erasmus+ also offers internship opportunities of at least two months at companies, research institutes, or laboratories throughout Europe. Through internship consortia (e.g., Boğaziçi, Sabancı, Erciyes, Şişecam, and the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry), students gain valuable sectoral and international experience.All Erasmus mobilities are supported with grants, and additional opportunities are provided for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Students participating in the Erasmus program at GTU are fully prepared for academic and social life abroad through a comprehensive orientation program. By enhancing both their academic knowledge and language and social skills, they achieve successful adaptation in a new country. Additionally, the IAESTE Club offers internship and global experience opportunities in various countries, particularly in technical and engineering fields. The IAESTE experience provides a competitive advantage in professional life after graduation.
The GTU International Projects Office provides students with information and guidance on Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, and other international research projects. Actively participating in various research projects greatly contributes to both your academic career and your international perspective. Internationalization at GTU means coming together under one roof with students and academics from all around the world, becoming part of global networks, and seizing the opportunity to make an impact in the world after graduation.
