About GTU 101 Extracurricular Activities Course

Students who want to take GTU 101 Extracurricular Activities course are required to report at least four of the activities listed below to the lecturer, Dr İrem Yalim Camci, by sending an email to iyalim@gtu.edu.tr before the end of the add/drop period. Students whose 4 activities are accepted will be able to register for the course.

 

(1) The activity course is offered as a non-technical common elective course with a value of 3 (three) ECTS for all undergraduate programmes with the GTU 101-Code, separately for each department in each academic term when there is sufficient demand. Each department assigns a lecturer who has the competence to teach the course in accordance with the language of instruction of the department to teach the course.

 

 (2)Activity course; employment and career days and scientific (TUBITAK etc.), cultural, social projects and studies. ), cultural, social projects and study groups; taking part in activities such as congresses, symposiums, conferences, conferences, panels, seminars, workshops, community service practices, exhibition events, museum visits, fairs, biennials, triennials, festivals, national and international competitions, events organised by student clubs on campus and university sports competitions; serving as a representative in the student council; participating in courses and trainings offered by GTU units, public and private institutions and non-governmental organisations and events organised by other universities, etc. This includes all kinds of scientific, social and cultural activities to be organised on or off campus.

 

(3) Activities that take place within the scope of any course offered at the University and/or are a compulsory component of the curriculum for which the student is responsible are not included in the scope of this course.

 

(4) Activities that the student has participated in since the first day of enrolment at GTU, regardless of academic year and semester, can be added to the course report.

 

(5) Before registering for the course, students are required to submit a report including the activities they have participated in since the first day of their enrolment at GTU to the instructor teaching the course in their department and obtain the consent of the same instructor. Before the end of the add/drop period of each semester, the lecturer submits the list of students to whom he/she has given consent to the Registrar's Office via the relevant department heads and deanships. The Registrar's Office drops the students who are not on this list from the registration list.
