Are you curious about how electronic devices used in everyday life work?
In this workshop, we explored those curiosities and raised awareness about recycling and waste utilization.
As part of Family Year, we examined everything from the buttons to the covers of electronic devices at an event organized by KUAM as part of GTU's Sustainability Journey. At the event, which brought together GTU families as part of waste evaluation, we carefully removed the screws and other connections to examine what was inside.
Among the things we discovered were the printer's gear, the phone's microphone, the camera's lens, and so much more... ⚙️
📌 Participants brought their own e-waste with them, thereby developing awareness about sustainability.
🤝 In the workshop facilitated by Caner G. Yalın, we will examine e-waste and celebrate all science enthusiasts who discover the upcycling of parts. ✨
See you at the event!

This event is directly related to the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
🌍 SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
The dismantling, examination, and upcycling of electronic waste (e-waste) promotes waste reduction and efficient use of resources.
• Participants are encouraged to bring their own e-waste, fostering awareness of individual responsibility and consumption habits.
♻️ SDG 13: Climate Action
• Preventing electronic waste from harming nature, reducing carbon footprints, and promoting sustainable material management are of great importance.
🏫 SDG 4: Quality Education
• The workshop offers participants hands-on learning opportunities and supports scientific curiosity. Content aligned with STEM education is particularly tailored for children and families.
👨👩👧 SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
• This collaboration between GTÜ, KUAM, and participants is evaluated within the scope of community-based sustainability activities.
