Gebze Technical University Cybersecurity Vocational School connects its students with the Presidency Digital Transformation Office Ecosystem.
At GTU, one of Turkey's 4 Cybersecurity Vocational Schools, students were informed about the cybersecurity ecosystem at a program organized by the Presidency Digital Transformation Office.
The student-industry meeting, held at the Aselsan Computer Laboratory of Gebze Technical University (GTU) Cybersecurity Vocational School (CVS), was attended by GTU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut DURMUS, GTU CVS Director Prof. Dr. Ogul ESEN, Duygu FIDANCIOGLU and Didem GULSEVER from the PDTO, Kerem KILIC and Mehmet Ali AGRAB from Turkcell, Eren HASIPEK from Turkey Cybersecurity Cluster (TSGK), Arif GURDENLI from Bugbounter, Ilker AVCI from Peyk Cybersecurity, administrative and academic staff of GTU CVS, and students.
The event aimed to increase the interaction between the Presidency Digital Transformation Office (PDTO) and Cybersecurity Vocational Schools in terms of academic, administrative, and student interaction, while keeping communication warm. Additionally, information was provided about Cybersecurity Analysis and Operation in public institutions under the auspices of the PDTO, with the participation of industry representatives.
The opening speech of the program was delivered by GTU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut DURMUS, who stated that the university would do its best to train qualified individuals in line with the country's needs in this field. Prof. Dr. Ogul ESEN, Director of GTU CVS, emphasized the importance of adding value to students, expressing their satisfaction with contributing to the training of qualified manpower that will meet the country's needs in this regard.
During the event, Duygu FIDANCIOGLU presented a General Presentation about PDTO, Kerem KILIC presented a Penetration Testing Session, Mehmet Ali AGRAB presented a SOC Center Session, Eren HASIPEK presented a TSGK Session, Arif GURDENLI presented a Bug Bounty Session, and İlker AVCI presented a Cyber Threat Intelligence Session to provide information to the students. Participants answered questions about their presentations during the Q&A session. The first part of the program at the Aselsan Computer Laboratory ended with a student survey, a group photo, and the distribution of gifts to the students.
In the second part of the program, GTU Rector Prof. Dr. Haci Ali MANTAR hosted the participants in his office and held a meeting about GTU CVS. Afterwards, plaques were presented. (April 19, 2024)
