Organized for 11 years by the Istanbul Technical University Engineering Preparation Club, Design Together with BIM introduces the concept of BIM (Building Information Modeling) to over 23,000 university students, primarily from civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and architecture programs. As part of the Design Together with BIM pre-training, 823 students have participated in a four-day introductory technical training focused on the BIM system. Following this, students engage in a 96-hour marathon featuring seminars, technical field trips to observe the terrain and BIM-designed structures in the designated region, workshops on the latest technology, and ideathons. In the subsequent 10–12 week design phase, teams compete to design structures that adhere to the specified requirements. The completed projects are evaluated by expert academics, engineers, and architects, and awards are presented to the top three teams.
Students from the fields of civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and architecture at Gebze Technical University are also invited to participate in the competition. |
