Muallimköy Male Student Dormitory

Gebze Student Dormitory, the construction of which started in 1996 on a 160.000 m2 land area under the Ministry of Youth and Sports General Directorate of Credit Dormitories Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, was taken over by our institution with provisional acceptance on 16.02.2011. On 22.05.2011, after the completion of the furnishing works, it was put into service with a total capacity of 676 and student enrolment started in September 2011.

In 2022, the capacity was increased and it continues to serve with a total capacity of 1545 students.

BUILDING - DORMITORY INFORMATION

Details on Floors, Blocks, Rooms, Room Equipment and Capacity of Rooms

Our dormitory consists of 7 student blocks, each with 5 floors. The rooms accommodate 2, 3, 4, or 5 students.

Situated on a 160,000 m² area, Gebze Dormitory Directorate comprises 7 student blocks, 5 floors in each student block, and the rooms are used for 2-3-4 and 5 persons. In addition to these, it consists of a total of 9 blocks, including 1 administrative block and 1 social facility block.

Our dormitory has a capacity of 1545 students. In our Social Facility building, there is a sports hall, library, workshops, prayer room, restaurant-canteen, music room, conference room, psychologist room, Young Volunteer Room. Our Directorate serves as a Model-1 high standard dormitory.

Student blocks have 24/7 hot water, luggage room, study rooms, prayer room and hot water dispenser. There is an outdoor basketball court. In the student rooms, each student has a box spring bed, desk, bedside table and wardrobe. There is 1 bathroom and toilet in common use in the room.

The dormitory provides free internet, laundry services, and two complimentary meals per day: breakfast and dinner. All male students are enrolled at Gebze Technical University.

All of our rooms are equipped with a mini fridge, air conditioning, a study desk, a wardrobe, and a box bed.

There are a total of 180 cameras in our dormitory, including 3 mobile cameras. We also have the following systems and facilities:

Finger Recognition System, Telephone Switchboard, Fire Alarm System, Lightning Rod, Electrical System, Generator, Heating Room, Laundry, Masjid in each block, 2 Elevators, TV Room, Valise Room, Ironing Room, Laundry-Drying Room and Emergency Evacuation Plan.

There is a Duty Room in Block E and Block D. There is a shelter and storage room in the basement floors of the student blocks.
