For excused registration, select the "Ders ve Dönem İşlemleri" (Course and Term Procedures) - "Ders Kayıt" (Course Registration) menu. You must apply to your faculty for excused course registration. Once your faculty shares your name with the Student Affairs Office, necessary adjustments will be made in the system.
COURSE ADD-DROP
The Add-Drop period will take place between September 30, 2024 (08:30am) and October 4, 2024 (5:00pm). To add or drop courses, select the "Ders ve Dönem İşlemleri" (Course and Term Procedures)-"Ders Ekle Bırak" (Add-Drop Courses) menu.
When selecting courses, please pay attention to the following points:
- Don’t forget to check your curriculum status. You can see the courses that are missing in your curriculum status.
- If you have already done course substitution, you do not need to retake your substituted courses. However, you can retake them to improve your grade.
- If you have any unpaid tuition fees, you must pay them before submitting your courses for advisor approval. (Tuition fees can be paid starting from September 2, 2024.)
- Your course registration will only be complete once your advisor approves it in the system. Otherwise, you will not be deemed to have renewed your enrollment.
- After selecting courses on the registration screen, press the "Kontrol Et" (Check) button and then "Danışman Onayına Gönder" "Submit to Advisor for Approval" to complete your student approval process.
- You cannot select courses from other departments via the system. To choose a course from another department, you need to apply to your department. The course will be added by Student Affairs based on the Faculty Board decision.
- Course quotas are determined by the departments. If changes are needed, your faculty should inform the Student Affairs staff.
- After you approve your courses, you cannot make changes. To make changes, you must contact your advisor. Your advisor can make the changes to the courses you have selected.
- If you want to make changes after your advisor’s approval, your advisor must inform Student Affairs to revoke the approval. You can then select courses again.
- The system will close for course registration on September 20, 2024. Advisors will have additional time to approve your courses.
- Students who fail to register for courses must apply to their faculties for excused course registration. Excused registration will be processed in the system after the faculty notifies Student Affairs.
- Students who fail to register for courses cannot do Add-Drop. Only the students who have registered can add or drop courses.
- Students under the old regulation can take 30 GTU credits.
- Students on probation who are under the old regulation (with a CGPA below 2.00) can take up to 9 GTU credits of new courses, for a total of 30 GTU credits.
- All students enrolled since 2017 are subject to the new regulation. Students enrolled before 2017 who have opted for the new regulation remain subject to the old one. There is no transition from the old to the new regulation.
- Students under the new regulation can take 35 ECTS credits.
- Students on probation who are under the new regulation (with a CGPA below 2.00) can take 30 ECTS credits.
- Students under the new regulation with a CGPA above 2.50 can take 40 ECTS credits. The system will allow you to take 40 ECTS credits even if the screen shows a maximum of 35.
- Students who have completed 160 ECTS credits with a CGPA above 2.00 can also take 40 ECTS credits. The system will still allow 40 credits even if the screen shows 35.
- The maximum limit for students under the new regulation is 40 ECTS credits. It is not possible to register for more credits.
- Students wishing to take less than 20 ECTS credits must submit a letter of request to their department. Students who have completed 220 ECTS credits in their curriculum can choose less than 20 credits.
- First-year students under the new regulation cannot take more than the 1st-year ECTS credits listed in the curriculum. Students who believe there is a mistake on their class status must contact us at ogrenci@gtu.edu.tr.
- You cannot exceed the maximum credit limit stated in the regulation, even with advisor approval. The maximum credit load is determined by the regulations, and there is no possibility of taking more credits.
- Elective courses must be chosen according to the curriculum. For example, if there are 3 electives in the 4th year of the fall semester and 3 in the spring semester, you must select the electives for the corresponding semester.
- You cannot choose more elective courses than specified for each semester. According to our regulation, the last selected course is valid. Ensure that you choose the correct elective group for the course in your curriculum.
- If you are repeating a course to improve your grade, the system will prompt you to choose which course to replace it with.
- If you have failed an elective course, you must choose from the same elective group where the failed course is listed. The system will prompt you to choose which course to replace it with.
- For the 2024 Fall Semester renewal, if you need to take elective courses from the Spring Semester, you must select them from among your current class's spring semester curriculum. All elective courses are visible for both fall and spring semester. Please contact us if you encounter any discrepancies (ogrenci@gtu.edu.tr).
- Internship course is not a selectable course. While choosing courses during the renewal period, do not take the internship course into account. After completing your internship, submit your documents to your department, and Student Affairs will enter your internship grade based on the Faculty Board's decision. No tuition fee is required for the Internship course.
- Students who have not taken the İŞL400 Staj ve İş Yeri Eğitimi (Internship and Workplace Training) course and plan to serve an internship this semester should register for the course. After completing the internship, submit your documents to your department, and the internship grade will be entered based on the Faculty Board's decision.
- Students with unpaid tuition fees must pay their fees to Halk Bank using their student number and finalize course registration.
- The MÜH498 / ENG498 Endüstriyel Uygulamalar / Industrial Applications course has been added to the Faculty of Engineering's curriculum. This course is not compulsory. In the 8th semester, students must either take 24 ECTS of elective courses and a Graduation Project or take the Industrial Applications course (24 ECTS) and a Graduation Project. (For the Industrial Applications course directive, please click on the link and select Directive No. YÖ-0093).
- Students cannot take both elective courses and the Industrial Applications course all at once.
- Course schedules are prepared by the departments. For detailed information on course schedules, please consult your department.
- The success of courses graded with DC and DD is determined by CGPA. If your CGPA is above 2.00, then DC and DD grades are deemed pass. If your CGPA is below 2.00, they are deemed fail. Past grades do not change based on CGPA.
- Preparatory Class students are not required to renew enrollment.
