Dear GTU Undergraduate Students,
Foreign students who register between September 22–26, 2025 for the 2025–2026 academic year will take the Undergraduate English Proficiency Exam on Monday, September 29, 2025 between 10:00 – 13:00. The exam will be held in Classroom 5, Materials Engineering Building.
The exam consists of a total of 80 questions. It will include Listening (note-taking & while listening), Use of English, Vocabulary, and Reading sections, all in multiple-choice format. The exam will start with the “Listening” section, and candidates who arrive late will not be admitted to the Listening section.
All students are required to bring their student ID and Turkish ID cards to the exam. In the absence of a student ID, a student certificate obtained from the Registrar’s Office or via the e-Government system will also be accepted. International students must bring their passports. Students without any identification will not be admitted to the exam.

For international students who are confirmed to study in the Preparatory Program, a PLACEMENT TEST will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Information about this exam will be announced on our department’s website after the proficiency exam is completed.

There will be NO PROFICIENCY EXAM for voluntary students. However, these students will also take the PLACEMENT TEST on Tuesday. The announcement regarding this exam will be made on our website on Monday.
