September 24, 2025 IAESTE English Proficiency Exam Announcement

Dear Candidates for the IAESTE Program English Proficiency Exam,

The English proficiency exam will consist of two parts: written and oral. The exam will be conducted face-to-face. The date and time details are as follows:

Written Exam

September 24, 2025

10:00 – 13:00

80 Points

Oral Exam

September 25, 2025

10:00

20 Points

The written exam will last 180 minutes and consist of 80 questions covering listening, grammar, reading, and vocabulary. The exam will begin with the listening section, and candidates arriving late will not be admitted to the listening part.

All questions will be multiple-choice. Only correct answers will be counted; incorrect answers will not reduce your score or affect your result. Each question is worth 1 point.

All students must bring their student ID or Turkish ID card. If neither is available, an official document obtained from the Student Affairs Office or via the e-Devlet system will be accepted. Foreign candidates must bring their passport. Candidates without any identification will not be admitted to the exam.

Candidates scoring 50 points or higher in the written exam will be eligible to take the oral exam. The list of candidates eligible for the oral exam will be published on September 25, 2025 (Thursday) on the GTÜ School of Foreign Languages website. You must regularly check the website on that day to learn whether you are eligible.

The oral exam will follow an appointment system, and you must attend at the specific time assigned to you. According to the appointment list, you must be present at least 1 hour before your scheduled exam time in front of the classroom where the exam will take place. Since the exam may proceed faster if a candidate is absent or late, you may be called earlier than the scheduled time. Therefore, it is your responsibility to take necessary precautions.

If you are not present at the exam venue when your appointment time comes, your oral exam score will be recorded as “0.”

Please bring your Turkish ID card or Student ID card to the oral exam. Otherwise, you will not be admitted.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you registered by September 16, 2025, but do not see your name on the lists, you must send an email introducing yourself (Full Name, Turkish ID No/Student No, Department, etc.) to cooperation@gtu.edu.tr.

We wish you success.
