Maximum Study Period (7 years) Announcement for Final Year Students Who Have Not Graduated From Their Enrolled Department
GEBZE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY PROCEDURES AND PRINCIPLES FOR SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMS FOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE COMPLETED THEIR MAXIMUM STUDY PERIOD BUT HAVE NOT GRADUATED FROM THEIR ASSOCIATE'S/BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAM ACCORDING TO ARTICLE 7:
ARTICLE 7- (1) Two supplementary exam opportunities will be provided for courses that the student has never taken, as well as for all courses failed with NA, FF, DC, DD, VF, or U grades, according to the graduation education plan.
2) For courses that are application-based, such as practice, laboratory, project, studio, workshop, sketching, design, fieldwork, seminar, thesis, etc., where the success evaluation is based on midterm activities and final exam results, the prerequisite for the supplementary exam is the completion of 4-14 weeks of practical work approved by the department head according to the program during the term.
3) Two supplementary exam opportunities will be provided for all the applied courses that the student has failed, following the semester in which they completed their maximum study period. If the first supplementary exam opportunity is not used or if the student fails, a second exam opportunity will be provided within the same semester. Depending on the nature of the course and department, the second supplementary exam may be provided in the second semester following the semester in which the maximum study period was completed. The exams will take place during the term or at the end of the term on the dates approved by the department head.

Contents of the Supplementary Exam Schedule:
- Dates for the First and Second Supplementary Exams for the courses applied for
- Practical application dates for the courses applied for, within 4-14 weeks, according to the department’s schedule
- Date for announcing the results of the First and Second Supplementary Exams for the applied courses
- Final date for submitting grades to the Dean’s Office
Considerations for Determining the Schedule:
- The completion of the First Supplementary Exam, announcement of grades, and submission of grades to the Dean’s Office will be completed by the first week of the Spring Semester at the latest, considering the department’s characteristics and course nature.
- The completion of the Second Supplementary Exam, announcement of grades, and submission of grades to the Dean’s Office will be completed by the end of the Spring Semester at the latest, considering the department’s characteristics and course nature.
Students will continue to pay the student contribution fee/tuition fee for each course they take for the supplementary exam/practical work.
These students will not be entitled to other student rights beyond the supplementary exam right.
